Dados dichos

A Casual Game of Luck and Nerve

Great parlor games — like great friendships — are simple, honest and timeless. Dados Dichos finds suspense and joy in the roll of a die. Or in this case, several. 14 to be exact. The aim is simple: roll and reserve the highest number possible on each die in the set. The higher your rolls, the lower your scores. Lowest score wins.

Dados Dichos requires only one set of dice to play. It can be played with any number of players and in any number of rounds. A round consists of each player completing a full roll and recording their score. The dice pass from player-to-player around the table, when they reach the starting player, the round is complete. Before starting, players should agree on the number of rounds to be played.

HOw to play

  • The first player takes and rolls the full set of dice.
  • After each roll, they must reserve (or remove from play) at least one die, but may reserve as many as they wish.
  • Players should seek to roll the highest possible total on each die, as any total below the maximum potential total will be scored against them.
  • For example, rolling a 6 on a D6 would not bring any points against the player. Rolling a 4 on a D6 would tally two points against the player.
  • Each player rolls and reserves the full set until all dice have been reserved. Their total points for the round are noted and play continues around the table.

After all players have completed all agreed upon rounds, the player with the lowest total score wins. That’s it!
